About Molly

Passed on November 28, 2015

Molly passed away shortly after 10pm on Saturday, November 28th 2015. She was 14 years and 8 months old. She was surrounded by loved ones during her last moments and my loving touch never left her body to ensure she could leave this world knowing how much she was loved beyond words. Molly began having fainting episodes earlier in the year and was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension in July 2015. A few weeks before her death, she was suspected of having developed pulmonary fibrosis.

I received Molly as a birthday gift when I was 11 years old. From the moment I picked her out to the moment of her last breath, Molly was cherished and treated like a member of the family. She was brilliantly smart and taught me so much during our life together. She fiercely protected me, my family and our home; she was small but barked and growled with the confidence of a lion. Her unique attitude and personality made for a spunky, adventurous and playful companion. Molly loved hotdogs, taking naps in the sun, playing with her Garfield toy, exploring the backyard, spending time up north, going for walks with Truffle (family dog), and sitting on my lap. Even on her last day, Molly was able to nap in the sun and rest on my lap.

Molly followed me everywhere and was never more than a few feet behind my step. She was by my side through all of life’s challenges and triumphs. We grew up together and knew each other intensely. She is a huge piece of my blessed life and I have many happy memories of her joyous life. Molly was always there to kiss me goodbye when I left for school or work and happily greeted me upon my return. Her absence is felt everywhere I turn, but I am at peace knowing that she is no long ill. She will always be my best memory and biggest heartache. She will be greatly missed by her family and always remembered as being a little sassy with a sweet, loving heart.
