August 2003- my favorite football season ever. It was the season I was determined to find the perfect fur baby for us. I’d almost given up when one Sunday I called your Grammy and said we have a secret mission. This sounds perfect. Next thing I know this wild little 3 1-2 lb. ball of fur was running up nibbling on my hand, snorting, and kicking up her heals to speed forward for another dive bomb into the rest of the litter. That’s the moment you stole my heart and never returned it. Pure joy for your Mama and shock for your Dad. Ha! The look on his face. You knew just when to use those milk dud eyes of yours to speak to his heart. Immediate success. We followed the advice kindly provided. “Keep things calm but live as you normally would until she used to her new environment” etc., Well ok. Adventure one. Camping. Which led to you later taking bus rides to go tubing down Cannon River with us, swimming in the St Croix, bon fires, mud masks from the little human friend you met after meeting your first kitten friend. So many fur family and friends you had- Your Sisters Angel,Autumn, SammySam, Chico, Harls, Watson…Did I mention what a fierce guard dog you were?Lexy was a very sweet and special soul to us and anyone that knew her Sassy self. She acquired many nicknames a few are BooBerry, PreciousLexus, Sea Urchin, MiniNut, ComboBaby and your Uncle Brad says you were always a sweet beautiful puppy. You’re Sister Angel is taking great care of your babies, blankies and treats of course. Angel also appreciates the fact that you taught her how to open doors and knock on the treat cupboard. Moments of heartbreak I tell my self I should try to half as strong as our precious little critter was and then you make us laugh! We’re trying to take care of your Sis as well as you did and of course, will continue sharing all of the truly beautiful and HILARIOUS memories we treasure. one word: TED. (A guard dog moment)Love You Always XO
