Dobber (BrymB'Liez Find Your Dream)
aka Dob, Bobber Dobber, Sweet Pea, Big Boy, Sweet Baby Boy, Dob(s).
Born: July 14,2005

Dobber crossed the rainbow bridge on December 21, 2018 @ 13 ½ years. My baby boy succumbed to the deadly disease, Degenerative Myleopathy (DM), the human equivalent of ALS.
Having rescued many (mostly large) dogs over the years we decided in 2005 to 'downsize.' and determined a Welsh Corgi would be a good fit for our family. Initially I was interested in a red and white female when we drove to Buffalo, MN on a cold December day. Unfortunately, we discovered that the female puppy had just been sold prior to our arrival. All of a sudden, a sable Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy came bounding into the room and gave my hubby a big smooch. This little guy was the only male in a litter of three. This union was 'meant to be.' We left that day with that sweet five month old puppy and headed home.

Dobbie never ceased being a people lover. Anytime he saw a human he would immediately seek out their attention. He seemed to always be thinking "I'm such a pretty boy, don't you want to come over and pet me?"

Right away we put him into obedience classes and from there we decided to sign him up for agility classes. He was the smallest in his class but definitely the most fearless!
He discovered Dairy Queen in a car trip to Red Wing and never lost his love of that frozen delight. At breakfast each day he would wait for a piece of peanut butter/banana toast from his human dad. Every morning he would follow his 'mom' out the door to give a kiss before she departed for work. He enjoyed long walks to the nearby college campus, stopping at our favorite concrete bench to watch the students go by. He always hoped to find an animal lover to stop by and lavish attention on him. He loved snuggles on the couch with his human sis. His warm body was better than a blanket. And as with most corgis he lived to eat. If it smelled like food it was immediately devoured. He would remind me if his dinner was late and his doggie bowl with kibble, pumpkin and supplements didn't get placed in front of him fast enough he became quite vocal.

Dobber, now you are no longer burdened with all that DM took from you. You were such a trooper battling DM. You taught us so much in the short time we shared with you. You loved fiercely and we all loved you back. We refused to hold onto you just for our sake. We knew your body was getting tired yet it was the hardest decision we have ever had to make. Run free baby boy, we will always love and remember you! -Nancy, Larry, Krista and corgi sister, Callie

Many thanks to all the caring staff at Inver Grove Heights Animal Hospital and Pets Remembered.
