Kissing Santa Paws!
Your name came from the ancient Middle East (Turkish) zil for "cymbal," a small brass percussive instrument tied to a dancer's fingers as an accompaniment to the music. You were so little when I first met you, you fit in the palm of my hand, thus I named you Zill.
It seems like yesterday when I fell in love with you, Zill. It was truly love at first sight, and I simply couldn't wait to bring you home. It's hard to believe, that was just over 13 years ago.
Since that precious day, you accompanied me in perfect rhythm though the dance of life. The only misstep being, the cancer that came, not once, but twice. You stood proud and strong, my brave little girl, now rest.
The band is only taking a break, and we will dance again, side-by-side, forever. I miss you so, so much, little Zill. Now, your energy dances alongside my soul, and your rhythm is inseparably connected to my heart.
Zill, not only were you adored by mommy, your two brothers, Jazz and Prince, auntie Doreen, and an array of family and friends, but you also left your pawprints on countless unsuspecting hearts that crossed your path. You ruled us completely. We all melted in your presence.
We will never forget your confidence in us when you fainted backward in our laps demanding belly rubs. You instilled absolute trust in us. Your unconditional love taught us to enjoy the here and now. You showed us how to live life to the fullest.
I thank God for the gift of you, my little perfect Zill. The universe is a brighter place because your light entered it. My baby girl, Zill, mommy sends you unending nose kisses, belly rubs, snuggles, and the words, I love you... I love you... I love you...
So adorable, mud & all!
