About Sophie Hicks

Passed on October 26, 2020

On Monday, 10/26/2020, while at home with Nick, Ava, and Louis, We had to say goodbye to my best friend. Sophie dog (also known as Soph Masta Flex, Sophie Marie, and Beagletron) lived 14 wonderful years with me. She was born September 25th, 2006, and I got her in November of that year, using my bar money tips. We went on so many adventures, road trips, and hikes. She was there with every move I made, the best of times and the worst of times. Sophie was the absolute sweetest, most snuggly, adorable girl ever. Everyone always commented on her big ears and soulful eyes. My heart will never feel full again and she can never be replaced. But I am happy for her knowing that she can be young again, in no pain, and resting peacefully.

I would also like to say thank you to Gail and to Pets Remembered. Losing a pet is always difficult, but they made the process much more personalized and special. Gail came to our house and let us say goodbye to her, wrapped in her blankies, on her couch. She gave us time alone to say goodbye and give her snuggles. Pets Remembered Cremation called us when she arrived to their facility in New Brighten, and they called us the next day when we could pick her up. They put her ashes in a beautiful box, gave us a certificate saying she was cremated privately, donated some of the money we paid to “Can Do Canies” in New Hope, gave us a pouch with some of her fur, a card with her paw print stamped on it, and also a magnet with her paw print for the fridge. I hope no one has to go through this anytime soon, but I couldn’t recommend them enough.
