About Willis Wicker

Willis Wicker April 23 2004 – Dec 11, 2020

Willis passed away Dec 11, after a long brave battle against a debilitating hyper thyroid disease. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. In death he is survived by his Daddy Cat, David Ginsberg, his Mommy Cat, Cyd Wicker, and his two loving aunts Jennifer Milbacher and Dr. Lisa Mekka.

He had many aliases Baby Willis, Willy Bobo, Little Cat, Dr Wheelas, Buddy Cat, and Wee Willis Wicker

He came from humble beginnings on a small farm in Hastings, Minnesota. At an early age he moved to the twin cities and was soon accepted into the graduate program of life. Willis showed early cognitive development, had he monkey paws he may have ended up with world domination. One of his earliest forms of communication with his people, whom he adored. Was to sit on the bathroom sink and once eye contact was made, tap on the faucet handle, to let someone know they needed to turn it on so he could drink fresh water. He did this for about a year until he had trained his human chattel to do his bidding by merely sitting there. That is once he figured out he did not have the upper body strength to turn the faucet on by himself, which he was caught trying to do on more than one occasion. His sense of humor soon became evident when he decided , in his own version of Cat Humor, to turn the lights off on his Mommy Cat as she got ready for bed. He learned that he could flip the light switch and they would go off, which always got a scream from his mommy. Unfazed by this he would repeat this over and over.

He showed great adaptability at solving the most complex of puzzles. He and his sister cat once had a mouse trapped in the space between the kitchen counter and a free standing cupboard. unable to get at the miscreant, Willis looked the situation over. He realized that he had often seen his Daddy Cat retrieve things from within the cupboard, therefore it was a dimensional object complete with an interior that just happened to led back in the direction of the mouse. He opened the door with his paw and tried to enter the space to get behind the mouse. His wonderful deductive reasoning only failed because the cupboard was an enclosed cube.

Willis had a brush with stardom when he was asked to be on “Dancing With the Stars”. Although his dance steps were flawless, the producer deemed his cuteness an unfair advantage and he was cut from the show.
