About Kitty

Kitty had chosen us back in 2008 when we adopted him, walking into my lap and sitting there for the entirety of the shelter visit that day. We knew he was family, and took him home as fast as we could. Immediately, he let us know that he was in charge now, and my family loved it. We grew up together, and everything I did, I would drag him along. From dressing up to watching TV and taking naps- I always had him by my side. Even after I went off to college, every break felt special because he was with me. He wasn’t very vocal until he became older, when his quack-meows emerged and stole our hearts immediately. If he was hungry, not getting enough attention, or his music wasn’t playing, he’d quack around until he found someone to bug until he got bored.

Kitty was quite possibly one of the best cats in the world. Anyone he met loved him immediately, even convincing some non-cat people to give cats a chance. He was a beacon; to know him was to be loved. But he was, to his core, a grumpy old man who wanted you off his lawn despite hating the feel of grass under his paws. He loved to watch TV, lounge in the most inconvenient spots, and try to be included at the dinner table. He helped me with homework assignments, which was always him lying on the keyboard and begging for attention, he would always sleep between my feet, and he loved being held up on my shoulder. He helped me through my hardest days and was by my side on my best days- he was the best friend I ever had in my life.

Kitty passed doing his favorite activity, sleeping in front of the TV, on August 25th, 2025 at age 17. He was always an independent soul, wanting to do things his own way. But he loved company from his favorite people, and would often want to do his favorite things with us. His favorite spot on the couch will always be open, as will his favorite napping nooks around the house. He was the best friend I could have asked for, and he will be missed more than words can describe. I love you forever.
