About Bentley

Only four days after losing my first baby, Lucy, who was hit by a car at the age of six, I met you. And despite the fact that I saved you from being put down for your behavior issues you saved me from my own grief and helped me mourn my Lucy.

I only had two short years with you before you were taken from me at the age of four. After recovering from a knee surgery, extraction of three canine teeth, and a cellulitis infection, cancer finally claimed your life. It’s so unfair to have watched you suffer through all of this at such a young age. But you taught me how to stay strong. I will cherish every minute that I spent with you; the tears and laughter alike.

My favorite part about you was your ability to make me laugh and smile no matter how naughty you were. You ate my house (three remote controls, a door, a window frame, a pound of sugar, powdered sugar and flour) and then you stuck your tongue out and pawed at me and I instantly forgave you. This picture is you at your best. How could I ever stay angry with a face like this? You taught me so much about life. I no longer dwell on the silly insignificant things in life. I see the bigger picture just like you did.

Love always, Mommy and Daddy
