About Bambi Toledo

Passed on December 22, 2023

We welcomed Bambi to our family in February of 2013. His previous name was Baxter and we changed it to Bambi (our Bambito). The first thing Bambi did when he came to our house was to go straight into the kitchen. I gasped when I saw this small and adorable dog. Bambi was traumatized from the neglect he experienced in his previous home and had very little patience when being handled, particularly being picked up. We had patience with him and embraced his feisty little nature.

Bambi loved going on walks and running through the crunchy leaves in the fall. He would also enjoy eating freshly fallen snow. He was also gentle when smelling the plants on walks and demonstrated so much patience. Bambi was sometimes more of a cat than a dog when it came to lying in odd places in the home, he would often sleep in uncomfortable places, no idea why. He had a fierce bark for such a small body and a powerful howl. What I loved most about Bambi was how brave and courageous he was.

Throughout his life he had several veterinary visits and several medications, but Bambi continued to demonstrate his lively nature and strength. One of his favorite activities was to be brushed and he loved to spend time in the kitchen surrounded by the noise. When we would come back home we loved seeing him from the window, watching us come back to him. During good weather Bambi would enjoy sitting on the stairs outside the house and he even had his own little bench in the yard to sit. Bambi was simply everything to us and filled our entire hearts with unconditional love.

We said goodbye to our Bambi on December 22, 2023 at 4:12 PM. His passing took a part of us that can never be replaced. We will miss his longing stare and beautiful big eyes. We deeply miss him and will forever miss his presence in the home.
