Hunny O’Dell

I remember when I first saw Hunny at Petco. I instantly felt a connection to this sweet little 5 week old guinea pig. I came back to Petco the next day and adopted my little Huns who would become my very first pet on my own. She opened my eyes to the world of guinea pig care and the fun personalities these little creatures possess. I remember thinking she was growling at me before I realized that guinea pigs purr! She welcomed her little sister Flower into her life and they instantly became bonded sisters. The bond they share is unbreakable. How lucky am I to have such amazing, beautiful little daughters.

Hunny had a rough start. Her mother and siblings attacked her for being the runt of her litter, leaving her with a ripped ear. She also had an upper respiratory infection when I adopted her. I was told she would only live for a few months, and medication wouldn’t help. I took her to a different vet, and they prescribed her medication that ultimately cured her. If I hadn’t stood up for her, she would have lived only a month. I am truly blessed to have had 5 years with the most beautiful little girl, inside and out.

I love you Hunny. I hope you are sleeping in a nice warm, soft, and cozy hidey with lots of hay nearby. You now can eat as many blueberries as you want to! Remember to clean your little chin hairs afterwards though! My beautiful girl, I will reunite with you one day, and until that day comes, I have a special place in my heart reserved for you.
